Chase Brexton Health Services, located about two blocks south of campus on Cathedral Street, has been an integral part in promoting wellness as well as helping the UB Wellness Center bloom. Chase Brexton has provided free anonymous HIV screenings and counseling on campus over the past two semesters and offers a host of other services to students, many free of charge.
"In exchange for their free services, they complete their mission of helping the Baltimore community and increase their outreach efforts," said Jennifer Morrison, negotiations and conflict management student and Wellness Center coordinator. "This partnership, much like many of our collaborative efforts, is a chance for local organizations and hospitals to give back to the Baltimore community."
Chase Brexton services include primary medical care, dental services, mental health services, substance abuse services, HIV/AIDS testing and medical care, sub-specialty medicine (dermatology, podiatry, psychiatry, infectious diseases, sexually transmitted disease services), women's health services, pediatric care and nutritional assessments.
Most insurance is accepted and, for those without insurance, a sliding scale is available.
